South West NRM Strategy

The draft South West Regional Natural Resource Management Strategy 2012-2020 is an opportunity for the NRM and general community to provide information, express opinion and provide input on the priorities of the South West Catchments Council for the period 2012-2020.

The comment period for the draft South West Regional Natural Resource Management Strategy 2012 -2020 has been extended with comments invited up to 5pm Thursday the 17th of May 2012.

Electronic submissions are preferred and should be sent to:

Providing effective comment and feedback

All comments provided will be considered and although you have the ability to provide your comments in such a way as they have a greater chance of being successfully incorporated into the final document.

It is important to indicate when you both agree and disagree with the contents of the strategy.

To ensure your submission is as effective as possible:

  • If you wish to offer alternative priorities or disagree with the priorities proposed please (where possible) provide evidence to support your comments and recommendations.
  • Make it clear and concise and where possible be specific and provide preferred wording.
  • List your points according to the subject sections and page numbers in the plan
  • Say whether you agree or disagree with any or all of the priorities, actions, or strategies
  •  Suggest alternatives to deal with issues where you disagree with the proposed strategies.
