The Communities Environment Program, first announced by the Federal Government in March 2019, released its Grant Opportunity Guidelines recently. To be eligible, your community group must be:

(b)  An incorporated body, or sponsored by a Regional Land Partnerships service provider, such as South West Catchments Council (SWCC).

SWCC  will be meeting with the Federal MPs  -The Hon Nola Marino MP, member for Forrest, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories and Mr Rick Wilson MP, Member for O’Connor – Chair of Standing Committee on Agriculture and Water Resources to present local proposals..

Individual grants will range from $2,500 to $20,000, but can fund up to 100% of an eligible project, which must be completed by 31 December 2020.

However, the project will be deemed ineligible if it receives funding from any other government grant (Federal, State, Territory or local).

The grant guidelines state that grants can support a range of projects, including, but not limited to:

  • citizen science activities,
  • activities that protect or enhance the natural environment and/or support recovery of native species/communities,
  • activities that reduce threats and risks to the natural environment,
