Clever Cockies and Priceless Possums Workshop

11 March, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Calling all budding citizen scientists!

SWCC, BirdLife WA and University of Queensland are looking for volunteers to contribute to science-based conservation of black cockatoos and possums, including the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possum.

Join our workshop to learn more about participating in BirdLife’s Great Cocky Count event (7 April 2019) and how you can help an innovative smartphone app trial aiding possum conservation.

Workshop speakers include Adam Peck, BirdLife Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo Project Coordinator, and Rochelle Steven, University of Queensland’s School of Biological Science and Threatened Species Recovery Hub Researcher.

WHEN: Monday 11 March 2019

WHERE: Gelorup Community Centre, 40 Hasties Road

TIME: 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Registration is FREE and includes a light supper.

RSVP: Contact SWCC’s Jaya Vaughan with your RSVP and any dietary allergies by Friday 8 March 2019 [email protected] or (08) 9724 2421.

This event is supported by the South West Catchments Council, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
