Grazing Matcher Groups

14 December, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 1:00 pm, repeating until 15 December, 2017

Two small grazing groups (up to 10 businesses each) will commence on 14 and 15 December to provide producers with the skills and support to optimise their grazing system.

For a cost of $500, growers can take part in 8 meetings between December 2017 and November 2018.

Meetings will feature a hands-on approach within a supportive network and with technical guidance. Grazing matcher program

At this stage, places are open only for commercially viable beef enterprises (sheep businesses may also join) within SWCC catchment area. The main aim of the groups is to foster practice changes to increase production, profitability and resilience via efficient pastures production and utilisation.

The initiative follows the very successful “Making Hay Pay” workshops. SWCC and Western Beef (former Beef Improvement Association) have joined forces again to support these groups.

To request registration, please email Peter Clifton on [email protected] or call 9724 2469, and provide the date that you would like to start (14 or 15 December).

This project is partially funded through Western Beef Inc., Profitable Grazing Systems—an initiative of MLA, and the South West Catchments Council’s Regional Landcare Facilitator Program through funding from the Australia Government’s National Landcare Program.
