Lower Blackwood Landcare: Farm to Fork Marketing
22 October, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
From Lower Blackwood Landcare:
Direct marketing and selling can be a great way to differentiate, tell your story, connect with your customers and community, and get better value for your product. And it can be a hard slog!
Many communities and customers have become more interested and savvy (and in some places, concerned) about where and how food is grown. In this context, farm direct marketing for small producers is an idea worth thinking and talking about.
Michelle McManus from Southampton Homestead will share some of their experiences in direct marketing pasture-raised chicken and duck from their Balingup farm, including:
-
“Ins and outs” of direct marketing, some of the different market channels available and sharing from our different experiences at Southampton Homestead – the pros and the cons!
-
Key strategies to help make direct marketing work for smaller producers, or producer groups.
-
Tools and tips for deciding if direct marketing is a fit for you, your farm and your product.
