Making Hay and Silage Pay – BUSSELTON
24 August, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
$50
Martin Staines (left), Jeisane Accioly and Dan Parnell
Feed is a major cost for livestock producers, especially in dry years, so any increase in quality and production efficiency can significant affect the bottom line. This event will cover the principles and practical implications of forage production, concentrating mainly on hay but also covering silage. Producers will get a good handle on how to promote pasture growth for hay and silage production, financial management considerations for the use of forage, and matching supply to animal demand. There will also be a presentation on meat quality standards and dark cutting.
Presenters include consultant Martin Staines, agronomist Dan Parnell, animal production advisor Jeisane Accioly-McIllree, and a Meat Standards Australia’s Neroli Smith.
The cost of this event is $50. To register and pay, enter the number of tickets you want to purchase below. Sales end at 12pm on 22 August.
The event is part of a series being held in Albany, Harvey and Busselton, and supported by Western Beef Inc. (formerly the Beef Improvement Association), South Coast NRM, Peel-Harvey Catchments Council and South West Catchments Council with sponsorship from Milne AgriGroup and Elders.
