Talkin’ After Hours – Year Round Grazing
12 March, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Presented by Lower Blackwood Catchment LCDC, join them for their next Talkin’ After Hours event, followed by a networking BBQ.
Stock grazing on feed all year-round – is this possible or simply a pipe dream?
There are many farmers in the greater south west & other parts of the state who have already demonstrated that it’s certainly no pipe dream & with the obvious benefits to feed availability, animal production & soil conservation it seems an obvious step for more graziers to take – but how to go about it?
Presented by agronomist & Western Dairy project officer Dan Parnell, our March Talkin’ After Hours we will explore just that with an introduction to appropriate species selections for the lower south west, what the key factors are in establishing a perennial pasture in our climate, & what is required for ongoing successful perennial pasture management.
We will also get an update from Western Dairy’s Ya-Chun Yu on pasture trials they are currently conducting in the catchment.
WHERE: Lower Blackwood LCDC Office, 403 Kudardup Road, Kudardup
WHEN: Thursday March 12th – Workshop: 4.30pm to 5.30pm; Networking BBQ: 5.30pm to 6.30pm
