Walpole Community Development Group Seminar

The Walpole Community Development Group (CDG) is conducting a seminar in Walpole on soils and pastures in the South West with the aim of stimulating farmer interest.

The Walpole CDG wants to form a farmer group to examine the possibility of trials, farm walks and other extension work.

Topics to be discussed include:

• The lime story – it’s not all about PH but what drives it
• Farming in high rainfall/low PH soils
• Trace minerals – how important are they and how do we get them to balance?
• Can we manage our fertilisers to stay where they are put (not end up in the estuary)?
