Waterbug Blitz – Busselton
11 November, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
The City of Busselton is supporting Australia’s first nation-wide waterbug monitoring event – the National Waterbug Blitz- by holding a free training workshop on the banks of the Lower Vasse River. The workshop will be a great opportunity for community members, professionals, teachers and group leaders to gain the skills to run annual Waterbug Blitz events in their local waterways.
We are extremely fortunate to have John Gooderham, one of Australia’s leading experts in waterbug identification, to guide participants through the world of waterbugs, their role in monitoring and how to use the Waterbug App.
The City of Busselton is currently preparing a Water Management Plan Lower Vasse River. The workshop will contribute to baseline data for comparison in future years, as work is done to improve river health.
WHEN: Sunday 11 November 2018, 11.30am – 2.30pm
WHERE: The banks of the Lower Vasse River, Southern Drive, near Gwendolen Street
Participants need to download the Waterbug App on their smartphone or tablet and bring it along. Also bring lunch and water, hat and sunscreen, and waterproof shoes.
RSVP & INFO: Robyn Paice, [email protected], 9781 0457.
