Western Australian farmers and landholders will be able to better-manage the impacts of feral pigs and weeds on their properties following a $444,000 funding injection from the Federal Government.
Feral pigs have a considerable impact on farmers feeding on crops, preying on newborn lambs, causing damage to infrastructure and harbouring and spreading diseases and parasites.
As part of the funding the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will develop a state-wide Feral Pig Alliance to provide a coordinated approach to managing feral pigs.
