South West Catchments Council (SWCC) is offering funding to Landcare, grower or other agricultural incorporated groups to host events or training in the 2021-22 financial year aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture.
Events and training must be held within the SWCC region and contribute towards one of the following agricultural outcomes:
- Increase in the awareness or adoption of agricultural practices that improve and protect the condition of soil, biodiversity and vegetation; or
- Increase the capacity of agriculture systems to adapt to significant changes in climate and market demands for information on provenance, carbon intensity and sustainable production.
Eligible activities include field walks, field days, workshops, seminars or training.
Eligible expenses include consultancy/speaker fees, meals and accommodation, venue fees, catering and equipment hire (e.g. chairs, audio equipment). Advertising costs will also be considered. SWCC can provide some equipment and printing.
Expressions of Interest must outline the issue or problem that the event will address, why it is important and how the event will contribute to Outcome 1 or 2. It should also demonstrate community support for the event.
Subsidies up to a value of $2,500 are available.
Expressions of Interest will be assessed based on value for money and how well they are likely to contribute to Outcomes 1 and 2.
