Improving Marron fishing through stock enhancement

Did you know that the Wellington Dam and Harvey Dam are the most popular Marron fishing spot in the South West?

If the Pemberton Freshwater Research Centre’s captured Marron breeding program is successful, a trial stocking initiative could see thousands of tiny “craylings” (juvenile Marron) into the Harvey Dam.

The Centre is working hard to find ways to improve the sustainability of WA’s iconic Marron fishery.
