Western Australians are being urged to wage their own war on waste and have a say on the government’s new waste strategy.
A series of workshops will be held across the state from February 1 including Perth, Albany, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland and Geraldton.
The workshops will focus on opportunities to improve Western Australia’s waste and recycling performance which is lagging behind other Australian states and territories.
In 2014-15, on average each Western Australian generated 2623 kilograms of waste – the second highest rate of waste generation in Australia per capita.
