Engagement

Engaging the community is an important part of what we do. We provide opportunities for the community to be involved so that they can become stewards for the natural environment.

We can’t do this without collaboration. We work in partnership to increase capacity, strengthen communication networks and broker knowledge between regional partners and the community. We support grassroots community and volunteer groups to undertake Landcare and NRM activities and provide opportunities for them to continue to build their knowledge and skills.

Local Landcare groups are an integral part of regional communities. We work closely with twelve community-based Landcare groups: Blackwood Basin GroupBridgetown-Greenbushes Community LandcareGeoCatch;  Katanning LandcareLeschenault Catchment CouncilLower Blackwood Landcare;  Nature Conservation Margaret River;  Shire of Dumbleyung LandcareShire of Kent Landcare; Shire of Kojonup LandcareWagin-Woodanilling Landcare Zone; and Warren Catchments Council.

We adopt a targeted approach to capacity building that includes training, regional events, knowledge brokering, communication, governance and partnerships.
