Knowledge is power, and access to the latest technical and scientific information empowers farmers to make informed decisions.
Farmers engage best when they can see results. Platforms for networking and on-ground demonstrations are critical for farmers to see first-hand how new practices can be adopted and used to improve the farm system.
We support farmers, grower groups and local Landcare networks by providing access to research outcomes from the latest agricultural trials and case studies. We facilitate the adoption of new practices through events, field days, case studies, video testimonials, resource information, newsletters and project updates. And we are increasingly using social media, including though our Open Farm Twitter account, recognising that farmers are now sourcing much of their information and support through these networks.
Our passionate and hard-working network of Landcare and NRM professionals also provide technical advice and support to farmers through extension activities. Local Landcare groups are a key source of information for farmers and we support them through funding, planning and partnerships so that they can continue to do this important work.
